Breast Augmentation Surgery in Houston, Texas

Breast augmentation in Houston is an advanced cosmetic surgery procedure that reshapes the breast using saline or silicone breast implants. During the procedure, a Houston cosmetic surgeon makes an incision in one of four places: around the nipple, under the breast, in the armpit or in the naval. The incision placement is dependent on a number of factors, including the patient's bone structure, the size of the implant being inserted, the placement of the implant, visible scarring and the patient's preference. Once the incision has been created, cosmetic surgeons create a small pocket above or underneath the pectoral muscle for the implant. Then, they fold the breast implants and place them in the ideal position in the breast. Last, they fill the implant with saline or silicone until they reach their desired shape. After the procedure is complete, cosmetic surgeons recommend wearing a supportive garment to assist the healing process. The recovery period from breast augmentation can range from one to four weeks.

Undergoing breast augmentation surgery is not the only breast enhancement procedure pursued by females. Breast lift surgery and breast reduction are two popular treatments, while women who have dealt with cancer often undergo breast reconstruction surgery.
